The Livingston County Hunger Council and Salvation Army Feed Kids
The Livingston County Hunger Council is pleased to announce that the Salvation Army of Livingston County is now accepting applications, donations of goods and volunteer applications for the 2012 Summer Lunch program.
Through the Summer Lunch Program, the Salvation Army of Livingston County provides lunches to children that normally receive reduced or free lunches at school. In addition, each participant will receive a meal pack of pantry food for meals to take home for the rest of the week. There are also activities for the children, enabling the children to not only be fed, but to have fun at the same time. There is no cost to attend but each family must register to participate. Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate. Transportation to and from the following sites is also provided.
Summer Lunch Bunch takes place from June 19 through Aug. 9at the following locations:
Tuesday – Shepherd of the Lakes Church (Brighton)
Wednesday – Centerpointe Church (Howell)
Thursday – Munn Middle School (Fowlerville)
Volunteers are also needed at each location. Two volunteer orientations have been scheduled for June 12 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. If interested in volunteering, please contact Nikki Gillette at the Salvation Army at 517-546-4750 to RSVP and receive more information. The volunteer application paperwork is all available on www.SalvationArmyLivingston.org. A wishlist of items needed for the program is attached as well as a participation flyer and application. The event is also listed on Facebook (The Salvation Army of Livingston County page) and Datekeeper.org/events/SummerLunchBunch.
