Art in Bloom Brings a Breath of Spring to Downtown Brighton
Brighton Florist and Artist Tracey Flanigan talks spring floral trends for 2013.
With a weather forecast of scattered rain and snow showers this week, it might be a little difficult to think spring.
That's not the case at Art in Bloom in downtown Brighton, however. The unique florist and art studio is bursting with spring colors and blooms.
"This year is more about massing the flowers together rather than a mixed arrangement now," Art in Bloom Owner Tracey Flanigan said. "So a whole two bunches worth of tulips together - or putting things in groups rather than a big spread out arrangement."
Flanigan said spring is still all about the tulips, iris and daffodils. Although, she is seeing more and more of a new flower called an anemone.
"This is sort of new out there with this black center," she said of the anemone.
In addition, flowering branches are becoming very popular. Flanigan has several silk versions hanging from the ceiling of her shop.
"I get that in fresh and a vase of it is just stunning," she said.
