Brighton senior girls defeated the juniors 14-12 during the second annual Brighton High School powderpuff football game Monday night.

The Brighton senior girls dominated the first half, scoring on the first play of their first ball possession using a trick play to confuse the juniors.

Briana Armbruster faked a communication error with Head Coach Chase Browning and began walking towards the sidelines with the ball, when she took off running suddenly to score the seniors first touchdown.

Browning said he got the idea for the fake play 10 minutes before game time from videos he's seen on YouTube and from other teams.

Armbruster said she was scared the juniors would see through her acting skills, but it went off without a hitch.

"It was amazing - I felt like a million bucks," she said.

Kristen Bartnicki scored the second touchdown and the girls ran in a two-point conversion, making the score 14-0 in the first quarter.

The seniors shut down the juniors' offense during the entire first half, but they made a comeback in the fourth quarter thanks to Alyssa Krause, who scored two touchdowns for her team.
