Brighton Woman Faces Felony Charges After Finding Estranged Husband with New Girlfriend

The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 41-year-old Brighton woman faces two felony charges of first-degree home invasion and and malicious destruction of property after breaking into her soon-to-be ex-husband's Howell Township condo then repeatedly ramming her car through the garage door on Monday morning, police said.

Jeana Louise Moir was arraigned in the 53rd District Court Tuesday and will return Aug. 1 for a preliminary exam conference, according to court records.

Police said that Moir entered the condo by climbing through a bedroom window after nobody answered the front door. Police said Moir then discovered her estranged husband's girlfriend's car parked in the garage and exited the condo through the front door and got into her own car.

Police said she then smashed through the garage, hitting the girlfriend's Cadillac, reversed and smashed into the car at least two to three more times before leaving.

Police said she also damaged the husband's Harley Davidson motorcycle, the garage foundation and broke a gas line and meter, causing a small gas leak. Howell Fire Department responded to the scene and the gas was shut off, according to the report.

Michigan State Police troopers later located Moir at her divorce attorney's office in Brighton, police said. Police said that Moir told them she knew the girlfriend's car was in the garage and was taken to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department to make a statement, where she was charged and lodged without incident.

You go girl! Ask for a jury trial. I'd vote to nullify!

Seriously, first you don't vote to nullify, you vote to find guilty or acquit. Second the article states soon-to-be-ex, meaning their divorce is nearly finalized and so they are legally separated, he is not cheating. Get a life, she committed a crime and should go to jail and have to pay for all damages.

Sure they are "separated" but I'd put money on the fact that he didn't start dating her AFTER their separation! Duh!! He's a cheater.

Angela has some ridiculous trust issues. What a walking time-bomb... I hope men steer clear of you so they don't have to deal with the aftermath when you finally EXPLODE. You're nuts.

Hey, if he is her "soon-to be ex" then she needs to move on. At this point in time she should have no anticipation of a relationship with the man, so he isn't "cheating with a new girlfriend", he is continuing on the path away from her that was already there. THe cheating was already old news. Give her 60 days of county time, followed up with 100 hrs. of community service she has to put in, some mandetory counseling and of course, restitution for the damages.

She probably has kids to take care of. The "soon to be ex" is clearly a cheater - she doesn't deserve 60 days - that is ridiculous. Technically he broke the law via adultery so where is his jail term?

Exactly, and let's remember that no fault divorce was created by men, for men, and does not benefit women or children. In fact, many states are doing away with it. Sometimes, we are human above all else and when natural laws or truths, such as marriage, are violated we respond in undesirable ways.this guy lost his garage door, but it could have been his head. Lucky guy.

Commiting a violent act against an ex-partner is not justifiable especially if there are children in common. Can you imagine what the children are going through in their minds if they do have any? As for adultery being a crime this isn't the 1930's. Thats just crazy to say she does not deserve 60 days for breaking in to someone's home and damaging their property by intentionally ramming her car into it. Bet you all think the woman who murdered her ex-husband by running him over with her car for being with another woman is a joke too and that he "deserved" it. Making light of a violent crime like this is a disturbed and dangerous way of thinking. Saying he's lucky he dodged being murdered because you think marriage is a natural law of truth. That is sick. Sick. Those saying things like this or that the exhusband should receive jail time are most likely women who have been cheated on themselves and who cant stop defining themselves by their own failed relationships.

Sorry to disappoint you Larry, but I've never been cheated on. Sounds to me like you need to justify your own behaviors to yourself. I've seen the lives of the women and children that the men left behind. As for the children, I hope she has daughters. No way should our girls think that it's ok for a man to simply leave his family.
