Competitive Jump Rope Team Hosts Camp For Kids
The Jumpin' Allstars, based in Livingston County, showed kids the ropes.
After this camp, jump roping will never be the same to you.
The Jumpin' Allstars, a competitive and performance jump rope team based out of Livingston County is holding a camp for children of all ages.
From July 12 to 14 at the Brighton High School Cafeteria from 9 a.m. to noon, kids can learn everything they ever needed to know about jump roping.
Kids at all levels of experience are accomodated, and everyone was able to learn cool single rope and double dutch tricks and show them off to their fellow campers at the end of the day.
The Jumpin' Allstars perform and teach jump roping all over the world. They've performed anywhere from local halftime shows and homecomings to the University of Michigan to their competitions in South Africa, Canada and England. They were featured in a music video by the choir that sang in the popular Chrylser Super Bowl commercial that was shown at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
The Jumpin' Allstars are split into a varsity squad based at Brighton High School and a JV team at Hartland. The varsity team is a lettering club sport at BHS.
While most of the camp was instruction for new jumpers, some of the team did get a chance to perform some of their routines.
