The following information was supplied by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department confirms they have taken two suspects into custody who they believe are involved in the theft of a donation jar from a 7-Eleven in Howell.

According to a press release from the sheriff's department, a male and female suspect were identified through information obtained from civilian sources and both suspects were positively identified.

After responding to the suspect's Howell residence, police say the 34-year-old male suspect was found hiding in a small crawl space under the floor in a laundry room of the home.

After being located, police say the male suspect was turned over to investigators from the Michigan Department of Corrections. The 28-year-old female suspect was identified as the wife of the male suspect and was also arrested and lodged in the Livingston County Jail without incident.

Police say a child that was present during the theft was released to a family member.

According to the press release, Sheriff Bob Bezotte thanked the public "for their involvement in bringing this incident to a successful close."
