The Brighton Area Schools Board of Education approved nine employee retirements this week, mostly from teachers. That brings the total number of retirements this year to 18.

Together, the school employees have about 600 years of service in the school district, according to Brighton Superintendent Greg Gray.

Here's a look at who will be finishing up their last year at Brighton Area Schools:

Retirements

Bradley Borgeson, sixth grade teacher at Maltby Intermediate School, submitted his letter of retirement, effective July 1. Borgeson has 27 years of service in the district.

Randall Brady, special education teacher at Brighton High School, submitted his letter of retirement, effective June 30. Brady has 35 years of service in the district. 

Patricia Cosgrove, third grade teacher at Hawkins Elementary, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 30. Cosgrove has 32 years of service in the district.

Richard DesJardins, science teacher at Brighton High School, submitted his letter of retirement, effective June 30. DesJardins has 37 years of service in the district.

Joanne Durham, English teacher at Brighton High School, submitted her letter of retirement.

Barbara Gienapp, math teacher at Brighton High School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 8. Gienapp has 39 years of service in the district.

Gail Girbach, reading specialist at the Bridge Alternative High School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 30. Girbach has 30 years of service in the district.

Bonny Graber, first grade teacher at Hawkins Elementary, submitted her letter of retirement. Graber has 26 years of service in the district.

Mary Gray, special education teacher at Scranton Middle School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 30. Gray has 19 years of service in the district.

Dennis Green, eighth grade math and marketing teacher at Scranton Middle School, submitted his letter of retirement.

Elizabeth Johnson, counselor at Brighton High School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 30. Johnson has 42 years of service in the district.

Bonnie Kelly, seventh and eighth grade technical education teacher at Scranton Middle School, submitted her letter of retirement.

Joan Loukotka, third grade teacher at Hilton Elementary, submitted her letter of retirement.

Mary Morse, currently on leave from the district, submitted her letter of retirment, effective March 1. Morse has 40 years of service in the district.

Judith Nacy, fifth grade teacher at Maltby Intermediate School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective July 1. Nacy has 21 years of service in the district.

Mary Ann Rossman, special education teacher at Brighton High School, submitted her letter of retirement. Rossman has 14 years of service at the high school

Diane Steeh, counselor at Scranton Middle School, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 8. Steeh has 35 years of service in the district.

Diana Worthy-Grant, second grade teacher at Hornung Elementary, submitted her letter of retirement, effective June 30. Worthy-Grant has 33 years of service with the district.
