Where/when: Mill Pond Park, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday
Why go: Now in its eighth year, Brighton Art Guild members display, create and sell their art in this unstructured event in front of the Mill Pond along Main Street in downtown Brighton, weather permitting.

Where/when: Miller Intergenerational Center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
Why go: Don't wait, get legal now! This basic boating course is intended for boaters ages 12 and up. Topics to be covered include: safe boating practices, State of Michigan legal requirements and regulations, boating skills, and terminology.
Pricing: $20
Where/when: Brighton State Recreation Area, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
Why go: Like to kill weeds? Help restore woodlands by removing garlic mustard and help restore prairies by removing sweet clover that could otherwise take over.
Pricing: Free
Where/when: The Children's Place, 9 p.m. Saturday.
Why go: Every Saturday during the summer, Green Oak Village Place is partnering with SELCRA to bring you the Movie at the Mall experience. Movies start at dusk on the inflatable screen. Bring lawn chairs. This week enjoy Little Giants.
Pricing: Free
Where/when: Heavner Canoe Rental in Milford, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Why go: Your adventure begins at Heavner Canoe Rental where you and your family will travel by land and sea looking for marked locations using your treasure map. Take a photo at each stop to prove your success in reaching that location.
Pricing: $35 per family (max three per canoe).
