Get Out: Big Moola Ball, Oscar Movie Winners and The Verve Pipe

It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Don't worry: Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for this weekend:

1. BIG MOOLA BALL

Where/when: Crystal Gardens Livingston/7 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Experience a night in Vegas without the cost of a plane ticket or hotel suite, with lavish cuisine, entertainment, dance music, ice luge cocktails, casino-style gambling and a $10,000 cash grand prize. Mike Marino and Jon King from WHMI emcee.

Pricing: Tickets, $100 per person, benefit the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, and are available there or at Texture 7 Salon and Spa, Champ's Pub, Crystal Gardens, Memories Restaurant, Whitmore Lake Tavern, Stillwater Grill, The Brighton House, Zukey Lake Tavern, and the Livingston County Convention & Visitor Bureau.

2.  THE VERVE PIPE

Where/when: Brighton Center for the Performing Arts, Brighton/7 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Enjoy the unique performance of this Michigan-based band; the concert is part of the BCPA's Adult Series.

3. OSCAR MOVIE NIGHT

Where/when: MJR Brighton Towne Square Digital Cinema 20, various showtimes.

Why go: Catch up on Oscar movies with showings of The King's Speech, winner of Best Picture, Black Swan starring Best Actress Natalie Portman, and The Fighter, with Best Supporting Actor and Actress Christian Bale and Melissa Leo.

Pricing: $8.75 per adult.

4. MUSIC WITH A STORY

Where/when: Fowlerville Performing Arts Center, 8 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: The Livingston Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert program highlights include Offenbach, Mozart, von Suppe, Mendelssohn, Alford, and the Livingston Symphony Orchestra Youth Scholarship Winner

Pricing: $10, adults; $5, seniors and students; free, children 12 and under. Tickets available at the door.

5. DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Where/when: Howell High School Auditorium/7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday.

Why go: See a Disney classic and support an event performed by area students.

Pricing: $10, adults; $7, students and seniors.
