It’s Thursday, and you've got your plans made for St. Patrick's Day (see this week's Patch Picks for more ideas). But beyond that, you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Don't worry: Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time, even if you didn't get tickets to Jeff Daniels at the COBACH:

Where/when: in Brighton; 7:15-10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Livingston Players’ first-ever open mic night is designed for people at all levels of talent; bring what you need to perform (instruments, microphone, etc.)

Pricing: It’s $5 whether you perform or watch; you might as well sing!

Where/when: Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Howell/Saturday, March 19.

Why go: This gala, complete with dinner, premium bar, live music, dancing and auctions, benefits the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Pricing: $85 for a single ticket, $160 for couples or $750 for a table of 10; advanced purchase encouraged; get tickets here.

Where/when: The Howell Opera House; noon- 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Why go: Support young artists. This weekend the exhibit opens, featuring art by middle and high school students; it switches next weekend to display art by elementary school students.

Pricing: Zero, zip, nada (free).

4. RED WINGS HOCKEY NIGHT IN BRIGHTON

Where/when: Kensington Valley Ice House; 4 p.m. Saturday.

Why go: Hosted by The Well Church, this game between Red Wings Alumni and The Well All-Stars benefits Promise Village Home for Children and Shop with a Cop of Livingston County. Ticketholders can eat at in Brighton anytime Wednesday, and 20 percent of purchases will also benefit the cause.

Where/when: The Clothing Cove, downtown Milford; Friday 6 p.m., preshow refreshments and prizes; fashion show starts at 8 p.m. sharp.

Why go: Help raise funds for Hartland High School.
