Where/when: Miller Intergenerational Center, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday
Why go: The Brighton Senior Center will be cooking up some tasty pancakes and sausage to jumpstart your weekend. Price includes coffee and orange juice and proceeds benefit the senior center.
Pricing: $5
2. MUSIC WITH LAURIE HORN SECOND FRIDAYS
Where/when: Fenton Winery and Brewery, 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday.
Why go: Grab a drink and kick back with some tunes from Laurie Horn, who sings a mix of original adult contemporary songs, oldies and jazz standards.
Pricing: Free
3. TOUR DE CURE
Where/when: Takes off from Brighton High School Saturday at 6 a.m.
Why go: Come cheer on bikers riding to support diabetes research. The ride starts off and ends at Brighton High School and bikers participate in a 10-, 25-, 62- or 100-mile ride.
Pricing: Free for the cheering section. Participants must raise a minimum of $200.
4. BRIGHTON'S LOCAL LIVE BLOCK PARTY
Where/when: Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Why go: Join the Chamber of Commerce in kicking off the summer season with live local music, food from local restaurants and a "beverage garden."
Pricing: $2 for wristbands for those 21 and older.
Where/when: The corner of State and Clinton Streets in Howell, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Why go? Spend Sunday morning strolling a market that features locally-grown produce, handmade goodies from 50 vendors and live entertainment.
