Every Tuesday and Thursday, Brighton Patch will post a snapshot of something from around Brighton. Readers are asked to guess the location of where the picture was taken. It will be like a virtual tour guide of Brighton.
1. The weather
Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 56 degrees.
2. Gasoline prices
Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Monday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:
- CITGO (Dandy Oil), 1050 E Grand River: $3.47
- Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd: $3.49
- Meijer, 8650 W Grand River Ave: $3.51
3. Brighton Chamber Golf Classic
The Greater Brighton Area Chamber will host its Golf Classic today at Oak Pointe Country Club. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. Box Lunch on Course. Food and Drinks with Post Round Special Events at Approximately 5 p.m.
4. Bingo
Play bingo at 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Brighton Senior Center inside the Miller Intergenerational Center. There is a 50-cent drop-in fee; in addition, each bingo card is 25 cents.
