Poll: Most Popular Cat Names of 2011

Does your kitty have one of the top cat names? Take our poll and share your pet's name and photo.

Maybe cat lovers are big fans of the Twilight series, because Bella topped the list of most popular cat names of 2011.

Bella, Max, Chloe, Oliver and Lucy were the top 5 cat names of 2011, according to Veterinary Pet Insurance Co (VPI), which sorted its database of more than 485,000 insured pets to determine last year's most popular pet names.

Rounding out the top 10 names for felines were Shadow, Smokey, Tiger, Charlie and Tigger.

Interestingly, Bella also topped the list of most popular dog names of 2011.

So what's your cat's name? Take our poll, and if it's not on there, add it in the comments. And while you're at it, upload a photo of your favorite feline.

I just posted a photo I took of our rescued furbaby, Phoebe Buffay Smelly Cat on New Years. Such a furry blessing. I think it is so great that so many people have adopted furry friends.

I will use any excuse to talk about my cats! I have a longhair tortie named A.J. Furrypants and an orange tabby named Krueger - as in Freddy. And yes, his personality fits his name.

My parents' cat, which my sister and brother-in-law found dumped in a Meijer parking lot, is named Chloe, so I voted on their behalf.

When I'm not shooting for Patch, I love to shoot photos of animals, of course including my cats and dog! I have a cat I call Bella (photo posted), but her actual name is Isabella after the Queen of the same name. She definitely believes she is royalty.

Fisher is my very large gray tabby. He is a rescue direct from the backyard. Behind us some renters moved out and dumped their cats outside. We somehow acquired him although we've never had a cat. He is inside now and has taken up the mannerisms of a dog.

We have an Eloise (aka Ellie, Weezy or Wee Wee). She's missing her lifelong buddy of 15 years, Marlys (Mar-liss) named after Lynda Barry's wacky pre-teen. We lost her in October : ( They are both beautiful long-hairs with some of the over-affectionate Maine Coon in them.
