W-4 Country Hosts Firehouse Friday
Brighton Area Fire Department welcomes families on Friday morning with fun, safety-focused activities at Station 31.
Families are invited to meet Brighton's hometown heroes May 27 during W-4 Country's Firehouse Friday.
The Downtown Brighton Fire Station, located just northwest of Main Street on Grand River Ave., will be open 6 a.m.-10 a.m. Friday with equipment polished and neighborhood fire fighters on hand to meet the public.
The event includes fire sprinkler and vehicle extrication demonstrations; tattoos, stickers and coloring books; and visits from Freddy the kid-friendly fire vehicle mascot, and Sparky the Fire Dog. Fire fighters also will demonstrate rapelling from a 95' ladder truck.
Visitors also will be able to sample coffee from local vendors, and vote on their favorite during "Brighton's Best Coffee Contest." Competing brewers include Starbucks, Panera Bread, Biggby, Two Brothers, Coffee Beanery, Hot Spot, McDonald's, Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts.
In addition to W-4 Country, Firehouse Friday sponsors include Servpro, KeyBank and Suburban Chevy Cadillac.
