Yummy Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

In just 20 short minutes you can whip up a chicken dinner full of flavor.

There are so many chicken recipes out there, but many have the same flavor profile. While I love recipes for barbecue and citrus chicken flavors - I was craving something different this week. The result? A juicy chicken recipe that combines the flavors of garlic and brown sugar.

The two ingredients form a delicious crust on the chicken, sealing in the juices and adding a nice sweet flavor to the dish. I spiced mine up with some onions and butter, and served with a side of sauteed mushrooms and potatoes. This dish would also be good with the vegetable of your choice or some rice.

To make this recipe you'll need:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. olive oil

To start, preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Next, place the chicken in a pan lined with foil and sprayed with non-stick spray. Season the chicken with a little salt and pepper, set aside. In a small saute pan, saute the garlic in the oil until soft. Once softened, remove from heat and add the brown sugar. Spread the brown sugar mix over the chicken, and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the juices run clear and the chicken is no longer pink. If you'd like, you can also add some roughly chopped onions and pats of butter to the pan prior to cooking. Serve with your favorite vegetable. Enjoy!
