Take the Kids to the SELCRA Meijer Skate Park in Brighton

Now that the weather is nice, I encourage you to bring your kids to the SELCRA Meijer Skate Park located at 333 Charles H Orndorf Drive off Grand River Ave in Brighton. They are located almost across the street from the Brighton District Library and behind Meijer.

Kids can skateboard or ride bikes there. They have different ramps for all ages and abilities. My child is just starting out skateboarding and has a lot of fun there.  here is also a big open area for kids to ride or skateboard without ramps and rails.

Ed is the park manager and is passionate about skateboarding. He helps kids improve their skateboard skills. As a mother, I appreciate how he makes the kids wear helmets and has them available on site if they don’t have one. Ed supervises the kids the entire time the park is open. He also has a shop on site with skateboarding supplies and snacks with very reasonable prices.

Admission is $5 and will cover the entire time your child is there for the day. As long as the weather is good they are open Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30 pm. to 5:30 p.m. Check their facebook page “Done in Extreme Shop” for more information and/or to verify hours. They are good at posting if the park is closed due to inclement weather.

Check out Ed’s website: www.doneinextremeshop.com to buy skateboard supplies at any time. “Done in Extreme” is a drug-free skate brand.

I am so happy we have this park in Brighton for kids to go to have fun, be safe, interact with other kids and get outside to play.

Ruth, we go there almost every day. Hours are 2 pm to 7 pm Monday through Friday and 12:30 to 6 pm Saturdays and Sundays weather permitting. They open later in the day on weekdays due to the kids being in school. That is great you are willing to help out. I suggest talking to Ed the park manager there. He is always there during the hours posted above.
