Brighton Area Fire Chief Michael O'Brian is the author of Ask the Fire Chief. Chief O'Brian will answer questions about the Brighton Area Fire Authority as well as questions about fire codes, regulations and fire fighting in general.
The Brighton Area Fire Authority (BAFA) is a combination fire department. The term combination relates to the makeup of the staffing on the department. We utilize a mix of full-time and paid on call staff to handle emergencies within in our response district. Since the Authority covers Genoa Township, Brighton Township and the City of Brighton, we are always recruiting men and women to serve their community and respond to one of our five fire stations.
