 lti-lingual students and staff who could serve as interpreters &ndash\; 
 with the proper training. University of Michigan Health Services (UMHS) 
 Interpreter Services offers a course &ndash\; Bridging the Gap &ndash\; 
 to teach aspiring medical interpreters the skills they need to interpret
  competently. The University of Michigan Health System is Michigan&rsquo
 \;s first licensed Bridging the Gap provider.\n&nbsp\;\nThis 40 hour cou
 rse is open to current and aspiring medical interpreters and is taught b
 y an authorized Bridging the Gap trainer. The class teaches interpreting
  skills\, techniques and ethics\, cultural competency\, professional dev
 elopment\, basic medical information and communication skills.\n&nbsp\;\

 ndash\; 5:00pm\nFriday\, July 27th &ndash\;Friday\, August 24th\n&nbsp\;
