Polar Plunge To Support Special Olympics

 

Everyone is invited to plunge into the icy waters of Leith Lake, behind Brighton High School, on Saturday February 23. Registration begins at 1pm, plunging at 2pm. Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate and loads of baked goods are available FREE to nibble while you wait to jump in! All plungers get an awesome t-shirt and other goodies and a chance to win prizes for best costume, most funds raised,etc. Register to plunge at

Livingston County Special Olympics provides year round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Need more info?

Downtown Brighton will hosting a pub and shop crawl on Thursday 2/21 and a fashion show on Sunday 2/24 and you can support SO by participating in these events!

Brighton High School, "Home of the Bulldogs," serves students in grades 9-12 from the City of Brighton as well as parts of Genoa, Hamburg, Green Oak and Brighton townships. Its mission is "to create a dynamic, challenging learning community where all members think with reflection, act with compassion, and perform with honor." Academics include art, business, English, family and consumer sciences, mathematics, music, physical education, science, social studies, special education, technology, vocational and industry and world languages. Principals are Gavin Johnson, 12th grade; Kirk Hobson, 11th grade;  Jack Yates, 10th grade; and Henry Vecchioni, 9th grade.
