The book sale offers readers a great way to expand their collection inexpensively - be it mysteries, cookbooks, gardening or how-to’s and there are great choices for teen and kids. Teens come to snatch up the latest music, adventure, romance or futuristic books like Percy Jackson, Twilight and Divergent.  Kids love picture books, early chapter books or classics like Dr. Seuss and Waldo. There are DVDs, VHS tapes and CDs, and for those who like to listen, there are audio books.

The fall and spring book sales are the largest fundraising events that the Friends hold. Money raised at these sales is triple what the state of Michigan provides to the library and is used for programing and special events that benefit the community. Among these are the Summer Reading Program, the Holiday Open House, Livingston Reads and Springfest.

This year, the Friends are again proud to partner with Brighton Ford who have donated the use of their army truck to transport books and media items in storage back to the library for the sale set-up.
