Collection Drive To Aid Homeless & Disadvantaged Children

To support its “Tools for Schools” campaign, United Bank & Trust will be collecting new school supplies such as backpacks, combination locks, calculators, binders and folders at all of their local bank offices from July 15 – August 16th.  In addition to opening its bank offices for collection sites, they have also set up a “Wish List” via Amazon.com where caring citizens can shop, ship & donate from the comfort of their own homes.

The collection drive was originally started at United in 2006 by Dawn Kangas, Vice President, Business Services, after she first learned of the strong need in Lenawee County. Since then, the drive has become an annual campaign at United, and now expands to aid needy children in all counties in which United serves. (Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, and Washtenaw). 2013 marks the 8th consecutive year that United has hosted this campaign.
