House Dem Political Leader to Speak to Livingston County Democrats

Does Livingston County have a role to play in the Michigan Democrats' effort to take control of the Michigan House in the November 2014 elections?

The political director of the Michigan House Democratic Caucus says yes, and he'll be in Livingston County later this month to discuss it.

Jason Ellenburg will speak at the next meeting of the Livingston County Democratic Executive Committee on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. at party headquarters, 10321 Grand River Road, Suite 600, in Brighton.

Michigan Democrats need to pick up just six seats in order to take control of the 110-member House. Ellenburg will discuss the main issues facing the state, Democratic positions on them, the electoral landscape in 2014, and what that means for Livingston County, including the importance of having a "farm team" of candidates running for local offices.

The meeting is open to all Democrats in the county, especially anyone thinking of running for office. For more information, contact Judy Daubenmier, party chair, at 810-229-4212 or livcodems@gmail.com
