Pink Week at Brighton High raises awareness

In an effort to raise money to aid Breast Cancer research, students at Brighton High School have been fundraising in various different ways. From Sept. 16th to Sept. 20th a silent auction was held in the cafeteria during all lunches. The auction was hosted by leadership classes, and the objective was for students to write their name and place a money bid on a prize in hopes of winning.

Several students participated by placing bids on items. The prizes ranged from gift cards, to trips out to lunch with teachers, golf outings, and even being a teacher’s assistant for the day.

In addition to the numerous other “Pink Week” activities, the money raised this week will go to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital cancer center. The money will be used to help patients pay for daily necessities such as food and gas that are not covered by health insurance.
