Discover the DIA's Art Around Brighton

Each day this week, Brighton Patch will feature one of the seven paintings, courtesy of the DIA's Inside|Out program, which are currently on display around town.

For the fourth year, the DIA's Inside|Out program has been bringing some of it's masterpieces to local communities and this year, Brighton was selected to host seven famous reproductions from its collection.

The paintings will be on display throughout the community as part of the Inside|Out program through the month of August.

For details of what paintings are spread around town, Brighton Patch will be featuring one painting each day this week starting with Cotopaxi, which is displayed outside of 440 Main.

Fredric Edwin Church depicts a mighty volcano in Ecuador spewing ash across the sky. The sun sets over a lake that spills into a valley as a waterfall.

Church features a vast landscape that has been built up by volcanic activity over millions of years and is simultaneously carved away by flowing water.

The painting conveys a sense of awe at the earth’s ancient and powerful cycles of nature.
