Chris Carmichael to Appear in Walled Lake for Tour de Cure Event

World renowned trainer, author, coach and Olympian to meet cycling enthusiasts.

Chris Carmichael, the 2013 Honorary Chair of the Tour de Cure, will be the guest of honor at a meet and greet hosted by the American Diabetes Association on Tuesday, April 30. This unique opportunity to meet the world renowned trainer, author, coach, and Olympian will occur at American Cycle and Fitness at 39900 West 14 Mile Road in Walled Lake.

The event, starting at 11:30 a.m. and concluding at 1:00 p.m., will be free of charge and guests are encouraged to bring friends, family and colleagues. Guests who are interested in attending that might have questions can call 248-433-3830 extension 6694. On-site registration for the 2013 Michigan Tour de Cure will be available, and the first 30 registrants will receive a complimentary Chris Carmichael training DVD.

The annual Tour de Cure is the Association’s national signature fundraising ride that will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Brighton. With over 200 volunteers taking care of day of event needs, riders are sure to enjoy a day of riding whether they choose one of the road routes (10, 25, 62 or 100 miles) or a mountain biking route (5, 9 or 14 miles). Tour de Cure, which starts and finishes at Brighton High School, includes stocked rest stops, on-course medical and SAG support, a catered lunch, a complimentary massage and entertainment at the finish. A minimum goal of $200 in fundraising is required per rider, and all funds go to support research, education and advocacy for all types of diabetes. Tour de Cure would not be possible without the support of sponsors including Nissan, Kroger Pharmacy, MAHLE, Level One Bank, Novo Nordisk, MPMA, Binson’s, and Blue Care Network.
