Watch Brighton Students Prepare Menu for Farm to Table

Brighton's Farm to Table Experience takes place on Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Greater Brighton Area Chamber located at 218 E. Grand River Ave.

Students from Brighton's Flex Tech High School are helping to prepare the meal for the first-ever Farm to Table Experience.

The menu was created and will be served by Steve Pilon, Executive Chef and part owner of the Wooden Spoon. Along with Tony Gelardi of Simply Fresh, the two worked with local farmers to gather only the freshest, locally-sourced produce and meats for the outdoor dinner.

The menu for Saturday's dinner includes:

  • Apple and butternut squash bisque from Stone Coop Farm, Brighton and Granger Orchard, Howell
  • Whole roasted lamb from Full Circle Organic Farms in Howell

  • Roasted harvest vegetables from Stone Coop Farm, Brighton
  • Kale and goat cheese ravioli from Stone Coop and Zingermans Creamery
  • Chocolate blueberry cobbler with Guernsey ice cream from Kathleen's Cookies in Brighton and Mindo Chocolate, Dexter
