How many Oscar-Nominated Movies Have You Seen?

The Brighton District Library will show Oscar Nominated films through Feb. 24.

The Oscars are one month away. How many of the Best Picture or Animated Feature nominees have you seen?

If you need to catch up, no sweat! The Brighton District Library will have screenings of Oscar nominated films at 2 p.m. on Jan. 27, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24.

This is the second year the library as shown Oscar nominees, according to Jennifer Osborne, Head of Adult Services at the Brighton District Library.

"We had a good turnout last year," she said. "A lot of people don't know how to get their hands on some of th emore obscure films. Plus it's always nice to see it on a bigger screen."

Best Picture nominee Beasts of the Southern Wild is available for checkout at the library now. Argo will be available for checkout on Feb. 19. Amour, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty do not have a release date set yet.

Animated Feature Flm nominees Brave, Frankenweenie, ParaNorman and Pirates! Band of Misfits are available for chekcout now. Wreck It Ralph will be available for checkout on March 5.

Residents living within the City of Brighton, Green Oak Township or within the the Brighton Area School district boundaries of Brighton Township and Genoa Township are eligible for a Brighton Library card. You can register online or in person at the library.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards are at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC.
