Dog Tails with Sadie, 7/31 - 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Our friendly therapy dog, Sadie, would love for you to read her a story! Research has shown that children can improve their reading skills by reading aloud to a non-judgmental listener like Sadie. Registration required. For ages 5-10.

Kids Who Code, 7/24, 7/25 - 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; 1-3 p.m.

For students who have completed grades 6, 7, and 8. Participants must register for all four Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. Learn to write computer code using the simple programming language of LOGO. No programming experience or knowledge is necessary. Registration required.

Pajama Jam Comedy Show, 7/23 - 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join the wacky comedy and interactive fun of Joel Tacey. His hilarious creative show promises to be BIG fun for all ages. All ages. Space is limited. Free tickets available 30 minutes prior to the event.

Dream Big Fairy Tea, 7/24 - 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Millie's Garden, at the Brighton District Library, just might be full of Fairies...come find out. Join us for a fun morning of fairy activities in the garden. Ages 4-8. Registration required. Adult participation required. Program cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Rick Kelley’s Don’t Just Sit There….Read Something! 7/30 - 11-11:45 a.m.

Award winning performer, Rick Kelley, will inspire everyone to READ with his high energy musical concert. All ages. Space is limited. Free tickets available 30 minutes prior to the event.

Murder at the Deadwood Saloon, 7/27 – 6 - 8 p.m.

The Brighton District Library invites you to the Deadwood Saloon. For weeks, people have been pouring into the small western town of Deadwood for the biggest poker tournament this side of the Mississippi. From outlaws to marshals and saloon girls to southern belles, everyone has made this small western frontier town THE place to be.

As the festivities of the poker tournament conclude, a celebration party is planned at the Deadwood Saloon to award the prize money for the tournament and to celebrate what is hoping to be a very financially successful venture for the saloon. With a smattering of bandits, bankers, saloon girls, sheriffs, gamblers, east coast debutantes, and of course a few of the locals, this is guaranteed to make for a very interesting evening indeed. Registration required.

Open Computer Lab, 7/25 - 3 - 5 p.m.

Learn general computer skills at your own pace or come in with your specific computer problems. Brighton District Library.

eBook Lab, 7/25 - 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Looking for some ebook assistance?  Every other week during the summer months, the Brighton District Library will be hosting an ebook lab where you can get help with your ereader and The Download Destination. Drop-In.

BDL – A Night at the Movies, 7/25- 7 - 8:45 p.m.

Get out of the summer heat and join us at the Brighton District Library for a fun evening flick.  Popcorn and beverages will be served.  Our July feature presentation can be viewed at http://brightonlibrary.info/bdl_night_movies_0. Drop-In.
