Community Resource Fair's March 25

The 10th annual Community Resource Fair is scheduled for Friday, March 25, from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Howell High School cafeteria in conjunction with the Livingston County Home & Garden Show.

More than 60 organizations, representing potentially hundreds of programs, are participating in the event, where attendees could win prizes that "focus on basic needs"; for example, a total of $750 in gas and grocery cards will be given away Friday evening.

Area organizations such as Livingston County Department of Human Services, Livingston County United Way, and Big Brothers Big Sisters collaborated to plan the event, which showcases area services and resources available to all Livingston County residents through local nonprofits.

Howell Fire Department will have a fire safety ‘smoke house’ exhibit on hand, teaching families techniques which someday might save their lives.

In addition, a family-oriented "kids zone"is added to the lineup of events; activities include book giveaways, face painting and games.

The event also highlights many local volunteer opportunities for individuals as well as various groups.

Note that those people attending the free Community Resource Fair who also wish to go to the Livingston County Home & Garden Show  will need to pay that admission fee.
