On Thursday, August 11, 2011, a greenhouse at Bordine’s Nursery in Brighton will become Kitchen Stadium, and the site for Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan’s (Gleaners) 7th annual Iron Chef Competition.  The battle raises funds for Gleaners’ Shared Harvest Pantry, their 2,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center in Howell.  The greenhouse doors open at 6:00 p.m. – the competition begins at 7:00 pm.

James McNulty, Executive Chef of Downtown Martini Bar & Grille in Brighton, returns to the Iron Chef contest challenging Executive Chef Tammy Young, of Boomtown Kitchen and Tap in Brighton.  The battle begins when the chefs take their places in Kitchen Stadium the secret ingredient is revealed.  Each chef must prepare an appetizer, entrée and dessert for a panel of esteemed judges.
