Did West Bloomfield native Meryl Davis add more hardware to her collection of medals and awards on “Dancing with the Stars” big finale Tuesday?

Drum roll, please.

Third Place: Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas

Second Place: Amy Purdy and Derek Hough

First Place: Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy

Davis and Chmerkovskiy aced both dances Monday night, the first of two-night season finale of the ballroom dancing competition show that pairs celebrities with professional dancers.

With a perfect score across the board for both their Argentine Tango and freestyle, the couple sealed a place in the finals Monday. In other results Monday, James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd were voted off the show. They received 29 of 30 points for both their Tango and freestyle.

Tuesday night’s results show featured interviews, dances featuring the full cast in DWTS’ 18th season, and a special dance featuring Davis and  White reunited, dancing together for the first time on the show.

Meryl Davis... CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your dedication, determination, hard work, your relentless persistence to be the best at any new challenge you put yourself through continues to pay off. Hands down... you so deserve this win, and I'm so proud of your personal steadfastness you went through to win this great reward for dance. P.S. Opera Winfrey can call a presidency but she couldn't with all her influence call this dance competition... thank you America for seeing past her opinion.

Kudos to Meryl. As far as Opera is concerned that train has long been run over.
