In honor of breast cancer awareness month, Cooper & Binkley Jewelers will donate 5 percent of all pink jewelry and handbag purchases to St. Joseph Mercy Livingston’s Mammography for the Uninsured and Under-insured program.
The store offers many jewelry pieces in pink, from watches to gemstones to jewelry made of pink colored gold, known as rose gold. Purchases made between Oct. 1-31 will qualify.
Cooper & Binkley will also hold a Chamilia Trunk Show on October 25. Many additional Chamilia items will be brought in for this one day, including many pink charms. Chamilia itself donates 10 percent of the sales of their breast cancer awareness charm. The event will include a fourth charm free with the purchase of three, snacks and drinks throughout the day, and hourly drawings for prizes.
Both of the store’s owners, Mark and Barb Binkley, have mothers who are breast cancer survivors. Sales Manager, Angel Mecham, recently walked the 3-Day in honor of her mother who is also a survivor. Customers at the store contributed in excess of $1,700 to Angel’s walk as they made donations in lieu of a charge for watch batteries. Holding this month long fundraiser in October is a natural fit for the Downtown Brighton store.
Cooper & Binkley Jewelers is located at 105 West Main Street in Downtown Brighton, and has served the community since 1949. The jeweler was recently voted Livingston County’s Best Jeweler for its 12th consecutive year, and voted Best Rings on the Detroit A List for the second year in a row.
