How did your business get started? Dr. Tianna Rooney, Director of Perspectives Therapy Services, received both her Masters and Doctorate degrees from Michigan State and always knew she wanted to provide services to directly to individuals, couples and families in her community. Opening her private practice doors has truly been a small business adventure! Perspectives Therapy Services began as a very small practice with just Dr. Rooney as the clinician and then eventually bringing on clinical interns to whom she provided supervision as they advanced through their education and licensure. Today PTS is a practice of 22 clinicians who specialize in everything from depression to anxiety to substance abuse to child-centered therapy to marriage counseling. Perspectives now has expanded to include 3 clinic locations. Our goal is and will always be, to provide the highest quality of care with special attention given to customer service. We know that seeking therapy can be a difficult decision for some and we promise to be sensitive as we offer a safe and confidential place to explore change.

What services does your business provide?
Perspectives Therapy Services offers counseling for individuals, couples and families of all ages and stages. The clinical team at PTS is diverse in their areas of expertise. We see clients for a vast array of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marital problems, childhood related concerns, eating disorders, grief/loss, trauma and difficult with life transitions or stressors. Each of our clinic locations has a play therapy room for our younger clients.

What do you want your business to be best known for?
Our mission is to provide outstanding customer service in a healthcare setting. From the very first contact with our clinic, a prospective client will talk with the Clinic Director, Dr. Rooney. She will welcome them personally, answer any questions they may have about the therapy process and then work to connect them with the therapist who will do the very best job for them. This unique "matchmaking" service sets Perspectives Therapy Services apart from other mental health practices. We place great care and emphasis on finding the right "fit" between client and therapist.

What's your most popular service?
Our most popular services include: play therapy for children between the ages of 5-10, marital/couples counseling; individual treatment for anxiety, and our community education program which consists of Saturday Seminars on a variety of topics including parenting, grief/loss, codependency, etc.

Why did you choose the location that you did
Brighton has been our home office for 10 years and the local Livingston county communities have been wonderful to work with. We have been well-received and continue to get many word-of-mouth referrals from past clients, school personnel and physicians' offices. We recently opened our doors in Highland as a new geographic location. We are eager to serve the Hartland, Highland, White Lake, South Lyon, and Milford communities in this new clinic.
