Brighton Brewery Hopes to Open This June

Construction on The Western House Brewery continues to "move forward" despite inclement weather.

While inclement weather continues to delay progress on construction of the Western House Brewery in Brighton, owner John Becker says they hope to be open by the end of June.

“We’re moving forward and probably by the end of April will get closer to an opening date,” he said.

“It's just a shell, we had to put in all new footings, new steel," he said. "Basically, what's going to be left of the old building when we're done is the brick."

Plans for the local brewery began in 2011 and included the addition of a European-style beer garden and brewing equipment.

A variety of microbrews will be offered, according to a previous report, that will include a brew from the American colonial area, as well as a drink that dates back to the days of the Vikings.

The Western House Brewery, which will take over the site known by residents as the "Pink Hotel" will be located at 500 W. Main Street.
