Brighton Resident Turns Love of Decorating Into Business

Amber Sears, president of Modern Vintage said she's always loved decorating and "making a house a home," so one day she decided to turn it into a business in Brighton.

How did your business come to be?: I loved decorating and making a house a home and it bloomed into a business!

What kind of services do you offer?: We are a home dΓ©cor and gift shop, specializing in the beautiful things that make life enjoyable! We have a mix of modern and vintage home dΓ©cor, jewelry, handbags, bath and body, furniture, and soon...decadent chocolate to make life even sweeter! We offer layaway, delivery of large items, and endless eye candy!

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?: There actually is really good parking on Grand River Ave, ha! Brighton is a great city for parking. Don't be intimidated by thinking there are no good parking places. Also, we have a second location in a darling little town most people here have not heard of, Blissfield, MI, an hour south.

What do you want your business to be best known for?: Making women happy as they find just the right delightful thing for themselves or a friend.

What's your most popular product or service?: Holiday and seasonal decorations and gifts.

When was the business founded?: 2002

Why did you choose to locate to Brighton?: I fell in love with Brighton on Valentine's Day 2010! It captured my heart from day one. I spent 6 months finding the right place there, and am so glad I did! I love the pulse of energy in the city.
