Chamber Calls Off Trinket to Treasure Sale

A lack of vendors was cited as the cause of cancellation.

The e has announced it will cancel the Trinket to Treasure Sale in downtown Brighton for the 2011 event season. The first-ever event was planned for May 14-15, and was to be located in the Hyne Street parking lot and adjacent Hyne Street.

"Although there was much interest in coming to shop at this new event, we lacked enough participating vendors to go forward," the GBACC said in a statement released this morning. "Because of the volume of phone calls and excited shoppers, the GBACC will begin planning Brighton’s Trinket to Treasure event in 2012, with slight adjustments, such as a lower booth fee to encourage our community to participate."

Vendor fees for the event, designed to allow residents, businesses, merchants, neighborhoods, churches and more to have their own mini “garage sale" in the heart of downtown, were set at $50-$100.
