Popular Sweet Shop Celebrates 4 Years in Brighton

What do blue raspberries and cotton candy have in common?

They are the top two favorite flavors for lollipops in Brighton as determined by Oh My Lolli! owner Kevin Karp over the past four years.

“Cotton candy is number two," Karp said. "I think the kids are just attracted that and a lot of times they just pick for color.”

Known as the “coolest, sweetest place in town,” Oh My Lolli will be celebrating its fourth anniversary on Saturday with a customer give-back party complete with balloon animals and a family-friendly scavenger hunt.

The celebration will start with Oh My Lolli’s famous lollipop licking contest at 12 p.m. and as the day heats up, customers will be able to try the store’s latest addition of flavored slushies.

The addition of the slushies drinks is just one of the many lessons Karp said he has learned over the years, but said that interacting with his youngest customers and putting smiles on their faces is still the most rewarding part of his job.

“It’s very interactive here, all the candy is made in the storefront, right in front of the customers,” Karp said. “So the kids are stoked, they get to walk out with a lollipop and the parents are happy.”
