Two Tickets Won Wednesday's $587 Million Powerball

Two tickets sold in South Carolina are worth $2 million and $1 million, respectively.

Two winning tickets were sold to last night's record $587 million Powerball jackpot, according to lottery officials.

And unless you're reading this from Missouri or Arizona, it probably wasn't you. That's where the winning ticket were sold, officials said.

At least two winning tickets for lesser jackpots were sold in South Carolina. A Match 5 winner with Power Play won a $2 million jackpot, while a Match 5 winner won $1 million.

The jackpot offers a cash option of $384 million, which will be split equally. Another 3 million players won smaller jackpots, including 60 who won million-dollar sums for matching five digits.

Americans went on a lotto-buying binge in the days leading up to the drawing, pushing the total prize to $587 million by Tuesday evening.

More than 560 million tickets were sold. It's unclear if the winner of either ticket is an individual or group. More information about the winning tickets will be released Wednesday.

The odds of winning the jackpot was 1 in 175 million. Powerball's jackpot resets to $40 million for its Saturday drawing. MegaMillions, the other multi-state big game, has a $12 million jackpot, which will be drawn Thursday.
