Another Winter Wallop May Be Headed Our Way

National Weather Service forecasts a winter storm that may hit our area Thursday night.

Winter is not quite done putting down its snowy foot.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from Thursday evening through Friday morning. The NWS forecasts that the "quick hitting" storm could bring with it 4-7 inches of snow.

The storm is expected to hit southeast Michigan around midnight Thursday and pass by noon Friday, according to the NWS. Snow may become heavy around the M-59 corridor.

The storm system is coming in from "the Southern Ohio Valley tonight and through Western Pennsylvania (close to Pittsburgh) tomorrow morning," according to the NWS. "This is historically a favorable track for heavy snow in Detroit."

Driving conditions could be hazardous with low visibility of half a mile or less and slick, snow-covered roads.
