Brighton Area Churches Offer Ash Wednesday Services

Plan ahead for Wednesday and attend one of several Christian services in town.

In the Christian Church, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, the season of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Here is a look at service schedules for churches in the Brighton area.

First Presbyterian Church of Brighton

  • 6 p.m. Ash Wednesday Pot Luck Dinner (Fellowship Hall)
  • 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday Worship (Fellowship Hall)
  • 7:30 p.m. Service of Healing (Sanctuary)

First United Methodist Church of Brighton

  • 12 p.m. Ash Wednesday Service
  • 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday Service

Holy Spirit Catholic Church

  • 8:30 a.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes
  • 7 p.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes

St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church

  • 7 a.m. Morning Prayer (Day Chapel) with Distribution of Ashes       
  •  9 a.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes
  • 5 p.m. Evening Prayer (Church) with Distribution of Ashes
  • 7 p.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes

St. Patrick Catholic Church

  • 8 a.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes
  • 10 a.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes (with school students)
  • 5 p.m. Scripture Service with Distribution of Ashes
  • 7 p.m. Mass with Distribution of Ashes

St. Paul's Episcopal Church

  • 12 p.m. Ash Wednesday Services
  • 5 p.m. Ash Wednesday Services
  • 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday Services
