City of Brighton Declares Snow Emergency

On-street parking is prohibited until further notice.

A snow emergency has been declared in the City of Brighton until further notice, according to WHMI.

Parked vehicles must be off the streets along the city's designated snow emergency route to allow for efficient and safe snowplowing. The city of Brighton will attempt to contact vehicle owners of any cars found parked along the emergency route, but after that, they will be towed at the owners expense.

The city's emergency snow route includes Grand River, Challis Road, Main Street, South Third Street, Brighton Lake Road, Rickett Road, South Church Street, Spencer Road, Liberty Street and Flint Road.

The National Weather Service predicts that southeast Michigan will be blanketed with anywhere between five to eight inches of snow by Friday morning.

Expect snow-covered, slippery roads and a messy commute Friday morning.
