Why Go: Jason Eaton is a Hartland elementary school teacher who moonlights as a Christian rock star. See him take the stage with his band and special opening act at this much-anticipated concert.

Where/When: American Spirit Center/7 p.m.-midnight Friday.

Why Go: As Brighton High School hosts its own prom on Saturday, moms don't have to feel like wallflowers. Grab the girls and have some good clean fun to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Pricing: $30.

Where/When: /11 a.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Rolling Thunder of Michigan Chapter 5 hosts its 10th annual Ride to Remember honoring the fallen soldiers of Michigan. The route ends in Howell with a ceremony at the historic courthouse and a gathering American Legion Hall. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Green Oak Village Place/6-9 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: The Brighton Arts Guild kicks off its 12th Annual All-Member Fine Art Exhibition with a chance to meet the artists. The exhibit lasts through May 22.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Brighton District Library/9 a.m. Saturday.

Why go: This first year "fun-raiser" benefits the Library's Early Childhood programs. This parade of decorated strollers, wagons, balloons, kids and storybook characters will walk along Grand River, over the bridge at the Millpond's boardwalk and back to the Library.

Pricing: $10 per person/$20 per family.

Where/When: /2 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Mothers and daughters are invited to don their most girly outfits, complete with boas, hats and gloves, to enjoy tea and crumpets at this hour-long community event.

Pricing: $6.
