Ford is running a campaign to showcase the 2012 Ford Focus and is asking dealerships to host a 2012 Ford Focus Premiere Night. However, Brighton Ford is never satisfied with doing the status quo.

“We wanted to do something different. That's why we came up with 'Fill a Focus Full of Food',” says Scott Spitler of Brighton Ford.

Gleaners Community Food Bank's mission is to provide surplus donated, low-cost food and personal care products to people in need in southeastern Michigan. Over the past 33 years Gleaners has grown from distributing just one or two million pounds of food a year to more than 36 million pounds amongst a network of soup kitchens, pantries, shelters and other nonprofit organizations.

Due to the largest hunger crisis in the organization’s history, Gleaners has decided to adopt a plan to grow their food distribution from 36 million to 50 million pounds by 2013.

“We know there is a need in the community for what Gleaners does and we wanted to help them reach their food distribution goals” Spitler said. “We also wanted to have some fun.”

Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave., just north of I-96 in Brighton. For more information about the event or Brighton Ford please visit www.brightonford.com or www.facebook.com/brightonford.
