Good Morning Brighton

1. The weather

Today will be cloudy, with a 70 percent chance of snow before 1 p.m., and a high near 28 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 6 degrees, and wind chill values as low as -2.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Thursday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

3. Brighton Area Networking Group Meets

The Brighton Area Networking Group (BANG) meets today at Two Brothers Coffee at 8 a.m. to discuss job opportunities, business, investments, trends and current events. The goal of the group is to enhance the financial well being of the membership.

4. Paint & Pour Party

Studio West Gallery will host a Paint & Pour party tonight at 7 p.m. Bring your favorite beverages and snacks to Studio West, and make sure to show up early to pour yourself a drink. Our gifted instructor will walk you, step-by-step, through replicating that day’s featured painting. Classes run for approximately 2-3 hours with FREQUENT sip breaks. You will leave with a painting that is uniquely yours, and we guarantee you will be amazed at the artwork you will have created.

5. On This Day in History

According to History.com, on this day in 1587, after 19 years of imprisonment, Mary Queen of Scots is beheaded at Fotheringhay Castle in England for her complicity in a plot to murder Queen Elizabeth I.
