Good Morning Brighton

Here are five tidbits of news and information we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, Brighton Patch will post a snapshot of something from around Brighton. Readers are asked to guess the location of where the picture was taken. It will be like a virtual tour guide of Brighton.

1. The weather

Today will be sunny, with a high near 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 65 degrees.

There will be a four family yard sale today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to  3 p.m. at 8441 Beverly Ann Way, Linden, MI - just north of Hartland. There will be kids and baby clothes and other related items, adult men and women's clothes, home decor items, including antique cherry wood dressers and other furniture, photo frames, pictures, knick knacks, kitchen items, books, kids drive-able cars, brand new American girl doll clothes, crotcheted items, toddler toys and much, much more!

Pinckney Recreation Area, located at 8555 Silver Hill Rd, Pinckney, MI, will host Intro into fishing today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. All the gear, guides and good times are provided for FREE, so this is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at this amazing recreation activity.  You'll also get a chance to be selected to "fish with a semi-pro" on nearby Portage Lake in September courtesy of Wonderland Marine West. A fishing license is required for those 17 and older, and a Recreation Passport is required for park entry.  Passports are available when renewing your license tabs at any Secretary of State or at any state park office.
