1. The weather

Today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be cloudy, with a low around 26 degrees and a 20 percent chance of snow showers.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Wednesday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

3. Camp Frosty

The Howell Conference and Nature Center, located at 1005 Triangle Lake Rd in Howell, will host Camp Frosty from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow. Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade can spend a chunk of their holiday break cross country skiing, sledding, making snow sculptures, taking wildlife park tours, playing games and making crafts. Cost to attend the camp is $33 per day. Before and after-care also is available for $10. Registration and advance payment is required. 4. Special Holiday Show

The Howell Opera House, located at 123 W Grand River Ave. in Howell, will host a Special Holiday Show today at 6 p.m. Indie rock band Tips will reunite to perform along with Good Weather for Airstrikes, Mike Mains and the Branches and Free Kittens. Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Last Chance Rescue animal shelter. Visit www.fusionshows.com for more information.
