1. The weather

Today will be mostly cloudy with rain and snow showers and a high near 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Rain and snow showers are likely before 1 a.m. Otherwise it will be cloudy with a low around 30 degrees.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Wednesday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

3. 'Canned' Film Festival at MJR

Bring five nonperishable food donations in exchange for a free movie ticket between today 4 and 10 p.m. at the . The event is sponsored by 96.3 WDVD & 93.1 Doug FM. The food will go to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank.

4. IHA Hosts Open House for New Patients

, located at 2305 Genoa Business Park Dr, will host an open house today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to welcome patients from the greater Brighton area who were formerly using St. Joseph Mercy Hartland Family Care. There will be tours of both Brighton Family Care and our After Hours Care program, refreshments, raffle prizes and the opportunity to receive your annual flu shot.
