Here are five tidbits of news and information we hope you'll find useful or entertaining.

1. The weather

There is an 80 percent chance of rain and snow today, with a high around 41 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with snow showers before 8 p.m., with a low around 33 degrees.

2. Gasoline prices

Here's a quick survey of the lowest per-gallon prices for regular gasoline in the Brighton area as of Wednesday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com:

  • Costco, 6700 Whitmore Lake Rd: $3.29
  • BP, 9400 Lee Rd: $3.29

3. Business Women's Bible Study

The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Women's Bible Study today from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in partnership with with The Power & Light Company. This is a weekly gathering for women in the marketplace who want to draw spiritual wisdom and encouragement from the Bible while fellowshipping with one another. 4. Sassafrass Gifts and Talula Grand Opening

Sassafrass Gifts and Talula invites everyone to attend their grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony today from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 108 W Main St. The ribbon cutting will be held at 5:15 p.m.
