Man Collects More Than $100,000 in Fake Veterans' Charities Scam; Dexter Cider Will Cost More, Taste Different This Season

There was a lot of news around Brighton this week.

Here is a list of five interesting stories for the Fenton area this week.

1. A West Bloomfield man collected , Farmington Patch reported. The man spent the money at athletic clubs, liquor stores and restaurants, according to authorities.

2. The Dexter Cider Mill, , opened for its 126th year, Dexter Patch reported. The cider likely will taste a little different and cost more because of the poor harvest season and the destruction of the apple crop in Michigan.

3. Hartland Patch reported that in South Dakota after begin reported missing by his mother on Friday. Connor's father, Mark Grabowski, of Hartland, a former Detroit Lions defensive lineman, was taken into custody by the FBI.

4. Novi Patch reported that more than during Labor Day weekend.

5. A car bomb exploded in Holly, reported the Tri-County Times.
