Michigan State Police to Hold Open House at New Brighton Township Post

A dedication, ribbon cutting and open house will be held on Feb. 7.

The Michigan State Police will host an Open House and Dedication of their new post located in Brighton Township on Feb. 7.

Construction of the new building began in May of 2012 and was recently completed in December. In October 2011, the Brighton and Ypsilanti Posts merged, and the Brighton location now serves both Livingston and Washtenaw Counties.

Post Commander Lt. Joel Allen will welcome guests at 10 a.m., followed by a dedication ceremony presented by Col. Kristie Kibbey Etue, Director of the Michigan State Police and Brighton Township Supervisor Tom Murphy.

The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce will perform the ribbon cutting ceremony at the completion of the presentation.

Chamber members and the general public are encouraged to attend. Open house hours for public viewing of the facility will follow the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Refreshments will also be served.
